A Nepalese court has acquitted two missionaries from the United States and Canada accused of proselytizing, and they said--after four months in prison awaiting trial--that they want to leave the Hindu kingdom as soon as possible. “We’ve had enough of Nepal,” David McBride of Columbia, Pa., said. McBride, 33, and Mervyn Budd, 26, of London, Ontario, arrived in Katmandu from Phidim, 150 miles to the east, where they were arrested Oct. 27 after a five-week trek in the Himalayan foothills. They were accused of selling cassette tapes dealing with Christianity on the trek, and police seized their religious books. Nepalese law bans conversion from Hinduism.
