Misguided on Street Project

The citizens group from Diamond Bar that is opposing the extension of Grand Avenue represents one of the elements that is causing the decline of the United States (“Group Files Lawsuit to Halt Grand Ave. Extension Project,” Times, Feb. 16). Its members have decided that they will act out of self-interest and to heck with the fact that thousands of others who will be inconvenienced and imposed upon if they succeed.
Why can’t these “citizens” (I put the word in quotations as I believe a citizen puts the issues of what benefits the most people in front of his own interests) see that the answer is not in stopping the extension? The answer is to get more roads completed.
We should all work to add more roads, not to stop those that are already near completion.
