Dan Jansen of the United States beat world sprint champion Igor Zhelezovski of the Soviet Union twice on the final day of a World Cup speed skating meet at Inzell, West Germany.

Jansen won the 500 meters in 36.76 seconds and the 1,000 meters in 1 minute 14.33 seconds, edging Zhelezovski by fewer than a second each time.
