Police on Sunday said they still have established no motive in shootings that killed a husband and wife and wounded their 34-year-old son.
However, they said robbery has been ruled out.
The attack about 4:50 a.m. Saturday fatally injured Edward Balluck and his wife, Ruth, both 69, at the couple’s home in the 1400 block of East Sudene Avenue. Their son, Randy, hobbled to a neighbor’s house with gunshot wounds in the hip and chest, according to police. Police, called by neighbors to the scene, found Edward Balluck dead in his bedroom.
Ruth Balluck died on the way to a hospital, police said. Randy Balluck was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was reported in stable condition on Sunday.
Fullerton Police Sgt. Neal Baldwin said autopsies were completed Sunday on the bodies of Ruth and Edward Balluck. He said the results of the autopsies, which he did not disclose, will be studied by police today “with evidence collected at the scene.”
