Placentia police said Saturday that they have no new leads on the abduction of a 65-year-old woman who was returned to anxious relatives Friday night, 7 hours after two men forced her into their van and sped away.
The woman, Anelica Maria Perez, telephoned her family shortly before 9 p.m. from a fast-food restaurant in the City of Industry, where she told them her kidnapers had released her.
Perez had been sweeping her front sidewalk at 3:12 p.m. Friday when the two men drove up and pulled her into the van, police and neighbors said.
A neighbor gave chase in his vehicle and saw the van drive north on the Orange Freeway. He then alerted police.
