About 1,300 customers in an area of northeast Simi Valley were without electricity for about 1 1/2 hours late Sunday afternoon and another 400 were without power for even longer as Southern California Edison workers hunted for the source of the outage, a spokesman said.
Company spokesman David Barron said the outage occurred about 5:25 p.m. Power was rerouted, restoring service to most of the homes by 6:50 p.m. Several hours later electricity was still off for the remaining customers.
The boundaries of the area affected by the outage were Cochran Street on the north, Kuehner Drive on the east, Los Angeles Avenue on the south and Stow Street on the west.
