A man was shot to death this morning during a dispute in a street next to an Encino apartment complex, Los Angeles police said. No arrests were made.
The shooting occurred at 12:20 a.m. near the complex in the 8400 block of White Oak Avenue, Lt. William Gaida said.
Neighbors heard shots and called police, who found the victim lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Rancho Encino Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting victim had no identification, but investigators tentatively identified him as a 27-year-old tenant of the apartment complex. Police said his name would not be released until the identification was confirmed and his family was notified.
Gaida said a witness provided a vague description of a light-colored car that sped from the scene of the shooting, but there were no suspects.
