Brea police on Monday arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of kidnaping and sexually assaulting a 17-year-old female relative about 3 months ago.
Juan Jaracuaro Orozco of Brea was arrested at his workplace in the city without incident, Police Lt. Jim Winder said.
Winder said the arrest concluded a 3-month investigation of the girl’s report that she had been abducted and molested by a relative. Winder said police are not releasing information about how the girl is related to Orozco.
Winder said the girl had been kidnaped from her home in Brea and taken by car on a 4-day journey covering a large geographical area.
“She suffered psychological trauma, but she was not physically injured,” Winder said. He added that the girl is now back in Brea and is recovering satisfactorily from the ordeal.
Orozco is being held at the Orange County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, Winder said.
