Gingrich, GOP whip, who is the prime mover in the removal of Wright, is actually doing the Democrats a favor. Wright will be succeeded by the most capable and very personable House Majority Leader Tom Foley (D-Wash.) Foley may well be the Democratic candidate in 1992.
I can foresee the morning-after election headline: “Bush Defoleyated”.
