PARMA, Italy — An Italian woman kidnaped six months ago was released unharmed by her abductors Tuesday after her husband raised a $3 million ransom.
Silvana Dell’Orto, 45, was left with her feet and hands tied beside a highway outside the northern city of Parma where police found her after an anonymous telephone call.
Dell’Orto’s husband, Giuseppe Zannoni, a local industrialist, announced three weeks ago that he had raised $3 million in ransom money and wanted proof that his wife was alive before paying.
Dell’Orto, who was seized from her home on Oct. 19, told Italian radio she was in reasonable health and had been treated well by her kidnapers.
