IN BRIEF : Isiah Thomas May Miss Bucks Game

DETROIT — Detroit Pistons guard Isiah Thomas’ shoulder injury could keep him out of the opening game of the second round of NBA playoffs.
The injury is a partial dislocation and not considered serious but it restricts the motion of Thomas’ right shoulder, team physician Ben Paolucci said Wednesday. He said Thomas’ playing will be questionable if the Pistons open the second round of playoffs Sunday at the Palace against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bucks lead their series against Atlanta 2-1 and will play the Pistons Sunday if they eliminate the Hawks on Friday. If there is a fifth game, the winner will play the Pistons on Tuesday at the Palace.
Thomas, already playing with a broken hand, injured his shoulder Tuesday when he grabbed the ball from the Boston Celtics’ Ed Pinckney in the last game of a three-game first-round sweep over Boston.
