Lawyers for the fired Exxon Valdez skipper, who now faces new felony charges, said they want the trial moved from Valdez, Alaska, and delayed. Capt. Joseph Hazelwood, already facing three misdemeanor charges in Valdez, was indicted by an Anchorage grand jury on felony charges, accusing him of criminally reckless behavior that caused his tanker to run aground near Valdez March 24 and spill 11 million gallons of oil. Anchorage lawyer Dan Dennis, one of five defense lawyers, said motions were being prepared asking to have the trial moved to Fairbanks. Hazelwood was scheduled to have his misdemeanor trial June 20 in Valdez.
