A Huntington Beach man was in critical condition and on life-support systems at UCI Medical Center on Friday after being pushed off a third-story apartment balcony in Fullerton by a jealous husband, police said.
Lt. Jeff Roop said the victim, Francisco Jacinto Rivera, 31, was pushed off a balcony at an apartment complex in the 400 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue at 6:40 p.m. Thursday.
Roop identified the man who allegedly shoved Rivera off the balcony as John Richard Miranda, 32, who lives at the apartment complex with his wife.
Miranda was booked into the Fullerton Jail on suspicion of attempted murder. His bail was set at $250,000, Roop said.
Roop said the Mirandas had recently separated and during that time the wife, Diana May Miranda, was seeing Rivera.
“The husband and wife got back together again, but Rivera came over to see her on Thursday, and an altercation broke out,” Roop said. The fight culminated in Rivera’s being shoved off the balcony, Roop said.
