Local : Fire That Burned 300 Acres of Brush North of Newbury Park Contained

A fire that burned 300 acres of mountainous brush north of Newbury Park was contained this morning, the Ventura County Fire Department reported.
The fire, which threatened no structures, was contained at 6:45 a.m., about 18 hours after it was spotted in Hill Canyon north of Rancho Canejo Road, Fire Department dispatcher Cece Grives said.
Firefighters from Ventura and Los Angeles counties battled the blaze. Two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion, but there were no major injuries. Firefighters remained at the scene this morning to watch for flare-ups.
The cause of the fire was unknown and still under investigation, Grives said.
