Producer Francis Coppola will take on his first TV project by making a sequel to his 1983 film, “The Outsiders,” as a two-hour movie for Fox Broadcasting, set to air this fall. The new story will pick up where the earlier movie left off--the fall of 1966. The first film featured brat-packers-to-be Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Tom Cruise, C. Thomas Howell and Ralph Macchio. Fox conducted a nationwide talent search to launch another galaxy of young stars in the upcoming production.
