Southland Firm Sued: Alliance Bearing Industries Inc. of Van Nuys is being sued for allegedly distributing counterfeit copies of bearings. The suit, brought in federal court in Los Angeles by New Hampshire Ball Bearings Inc. of Laconia, N.H., and Nippon Miniature Bearing Corp. of Chatsworth, alleges that Alliance bought lower-quality bearings from the two companies and resold them as higher-quality goods. Alliance’s attorney declined to comment. Alliance was sued in July, 1988, by a Connecticut airplane parts manufacturer, which alleged that Alliance had sold counterfeit copies of its ball bearings to Boeing Co. An out-of-court settlement is being negotiated in that case.
