Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing: The diversified St. Paul, Minn.-based company said earnings rose 5.5% to $327 million in the second quarter. Revenue was $3.025 billion, up from $2.903 billion in the year-ago period. The manufacturer of industrial, commercial, health-care and consumer products noted that international operations posted double-digit unit-volume growth and that the information and imaging technologies sector achieved sharp profit gains worldwide. Overall results were affected by a weaker domestic economy and the stronger U.S. dollar.
