Capistrano Valley Wins in 7th Inning

Jim Young drove in a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Capistrano Valley High School a 5-4 victory over Huntington Beach Sunday in the second round of the Irvine Baseball Assn. and Times Orange County Hardball tournament at UC Irvine.
Mike Lavin walked to lead off the seventh and went to second on a single by Ian Levine. After T.J. Chase walked, Young flied to right field and Lavin beat the throw to the plate.
In other winner’s bracket games:
Tustin 15, Corona del Mar 3--Ryan Relph had three hits to lead the Tillers’ 18-hit attack at Irvine. Relph had a double and triple and two runs batted in.
University 8, Irvine 4--Aaron Butler had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI for the Trojans at UC Irvine. Dave Clark had two RBIs for University.

Canyon 7, Laguna Hills 2--Lee Torres had a no-hitter for 5 1/3 for Canyon.
