NATION : Eastern Adds Pilots, More Flights

ATLANTA — Eastern Airlines, crippled for months by a machinists’ strike, increased its daily flights from 225 to 350 today, bolstered by 291 newly hired pilots and another 750 waiting in the wings.
The airline had initially set a goal of 390 flights by Aug. 1 and acknowledged that it had to modify the schedule because of a pilot shortage.
