Yannis Tsarouchis, 79; Artist, Set Designer

Yannis Tsarouchis, 79, an artist and set designer, died July 20 in Athens. A friend, Stathis Orphanos of Los Angeles, who is publishing a collection of his works, said Tsarouchis was considered one of Greece’s most prominent modern artists and had designed sets for theater productions throughout Europe. He also was known for his portraits of ordinary people in everyday situations.
