Gil Shaham, the 18-year old violinist from the Bronx who earned acclaim when he replaced the ailing Itzhak Perlman in two concerto appearances in London in April, will replace Mark Peskanov at the closing concert of the Strawberry Creek Festival at Pepperdine University Saturday night. Peskanov is reportedly suffering from an injured finger and will require surgery. Shaham will play the originally scheduled Mendelssohn Concerto in E minor.
