A 59-year-old retired San Diego bricklayer was shot and killed early Friday after returning home from a pool game, authorities said.
Thomas Mims, of the 300 block of Sears Avenue, was shot at least once in the chest about 1:10 a.m., said Bill Robinson, a police spokesman.
Mims was found lying on his back next to his pickup truck by neighbors who heard a gunshot and ran outside, Robinson said.
Police, who said none of Mims’ money or property was missing, are unsure who killed him, and might conduct a reenactment of the incident next week in conjunction with Crime Stoppers.
