The death toll from overcrowding at a World Cup soccer match played in extreme heat and humidity Saturday in Lagos, Nigeria, has risen to 13, officials said.
The Nigerian government also plans to investigate the death of player Sam Okwaraji, who slumped to the ground in the 84th minute of the game against Angola and died a few minutes later.
Officials said five teen-agers watching the game died in the last two days as a result of being unable to breathe at the time of the incident.
