Raisa Will Attend Summit Off Malta if Gorbachev OKs It

MOSCOW — Soviet First Lady Raisa Gorbachev said today that her husband will decide whether she accompanies him next month to the superpower summit off Malta.
Bundled in a black wool coat and a blue fur cap on a damp Moscow morning, she watched the annual parade celebrating the Nov. 7 anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution from a stand for special guests at Red Square.
Asked whether she planned to travel with Gorbachev for the Dec. 2-3 summit, the first lady responded: “If my husband takes me.”
She politely declined repeated requests for her assessment of the massive economic problems facing her husband.
“It’s a holiday,” she said. “Let’s just relax.”
