Suspect Arrested in Van Nuys Homicide

Las Vegas police on Tuesday arrested a convicted burglar suspected of beating a Van Nuys woman to death in her apartment last month, Los Angeles police said.

Donald Max Kuehn, 25, who lived near the woman’s apartment in the 6900 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, was arrested without incident at 7:20 p.m. in a Las Vegas suburb, Los Angeles Police Detective Don Tabak said.

The body of Emily Krevi, 34, was found Oct. 31 by her brother. There were no signs of forced entry, and Tabak said he suspects Kuehn used his acquaintance with the woman to gain entry.

The two had briefly spoken two or three times before the attack, Tabak said. Authorities would not reveal what connected Kuehn to Krevi, but said it included information from witnesses and evidence found in Krevi’s apartment.

Tabak said Los Angeles police detectives would go to Las Vegas today to seek Kuehn’s extradition to California.
