British Firm to Buy Dunkin’ Donuts: Dunkin’ Donuts Inc., which fought off a hostile takeover attempt earlier this year, said it has agreed to be acquired by the British food and beverage group Allied-Lyons PLC for $325 million in cash. Under terms of the deal, London-based Allied-Lyons, which already owns a number of North American food companies including the Baskin-Robbins ice cream franchise, will pay $47.25 a share for all outstanding common Dunkin’ Donuts shares. Dunkin’ Donuts, based in Randolph, Mass., has 1,600 U.S. outlets and 250 abroad.
