Tustin Defeats Norwalk, 31-21; Advances Easily

TUSTIN — Tustin High School moved into the second round of the Southern Section Division VI football playoffs by defeating Norwalk, 31-21, Friday night.
Tustin improved to 7-4 for the season and will meet Sunny Hills next Friday. Norwalk ends the season 8-3, after finishing second in the Suburban League.
Norwalk wide receiver Chuck Stafford stunned Tustin by returning the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown.
But Tustin came back with 2 minutes 51 seconds left in the first quarter to make score 7-3 on David Basurto’s 31-yard field goal. With five minutes remaining in the first half, Tustin took a 10-7 lead on quarterback Andy Borza’s 10-yard touchdown pass to tight end Chad Smith.
