L.A. Architects Honor Two Times Writers

Sam Hall Kaplan, Los Angeles Times design critic whose views appear weekly in the Real Estate Section, and Leon Whiteson, a free-lance writer for the Real Estate and View sections of The Times, were honored by the Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects at a recent awards ceremony.
Kaplan received a Presidential Citation in recognition of his role as journalist and critic “whose watchful eye and words have served to safeguard the Los Angeles urban environment.”
Whiteson was singled out for the Distinguished Achievement Award in the Media.
