A woman trying to stop a confrontation in Canton between her son and four men over an alleged drug deal was shot and killed in the house where she cared for 10 foster children, police said. The children, whose ages ranged from 9 months to 16 years, were not injured; most were sleeping during the 2 a.m. shooting. The woman’s son and a man with whom he was arguing were wounded, authorities said. Moses Williams, 36, will be charged in the death of Elsie Jackson, 59, who was shot in the chest when she tried to persuade Williams to leave her house, police said. Her son, Darryl Ross, 25, was in guarded condition at Aultman Hospital. The foster children were placed in other foster homes.
