LAUREL, Md. — East Royalty gave Kent Desormeaux his third winner of the day and 597th of the year with a nose victory in a three-horse driving finish in the $65,550 Inner Harbor Stakes for 2-year-olds Sunday at Laurel Race Course.
Super Cholo, the favorite ridden by Michael Hunter, finished second by a neck in front of Flying Feet, ridden by Marco Castenada, in the 1 1/8-mile race.
The winner was timed in 1:53 1/5 over a muddy track and paid $5, $2.60 and $3.
