Iran to Crack Down on Rebels, Drug Dealers

ATHENS — Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guards will launch an operation in the southeast of the country next week against rebels and drug traffickers, Tehran Radio said Wednesday.
The announcement followed a report Tuesday that paramilitary guards clashed with a 12-man gang of drug traffickers in the southeastern Iranian desert, killing five and wounding seven.
