Jack Morris, the winningest pitcher of the 1980s, agreed to a $2.1-million contract with a $2.1-million option for 1991 with the Detroit Tigers. But, in an unusual twist, the option is his and not the club’s.
Morris’ agent, Richard Moss, believes Morris is only the third player in baseball history to get options--the others were Robin Yount and Carney Lansford.
