CSUN’s Teobaldi Reaches Final of Tennis Tournament

Cathy Teobaldi of Cal State Northridge advanced to the singles final of the Cal State Los Angeles Invitational tennis tournament with victories in the quarterfinals and semifinals Saturday.
Teobaldi beat Joni Sterar of Loyola Marymount, 6-3, 6-3, in the quarterfinals and defeated Shelley Keeler of Pomona-Pitzer, 6-1, 7-5, in the semifinals to advance to today’s final against Edna Olivarez of Cal State L. A.
In doubles play, Caren Hasselo and Heather Miller of CSUN were eliminated by Tracey and Debbie Matano of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 6-2, 6-2, in the semifinals.
Hasselo and Miller had defeated Miki Kapsi and Noreen Numanga of BYU-Hawaii in a quarterfinal match, 7-6, 6-2.
