Keith Hill scored 18 points and Michael New added 10 and grabbed 12 rebounds as New Mexico State defeated Utah State, 81-73, in a Big West Conference game Saturday night in Logan, Utah.
Utah State (11-9, 5-4) held a 51-47 lead with 14:27 left, but Hill paced New Mexico State’s comeback by scoring seven points during a 14-8 run. His two free throws with 3:39 left gave New Mexico State (17-2, 8-1) a 71-69 lead.
Pacific 56, Fresno St. 53--Don Lyttle and Anthony Woods scored 17 points apiece to lead the Tigers at Stockton.
Pacific (11-7, 4-5) held a 12-point lead midway through the second half but were ahead by just two with a minute remaining. Lyttle scored a field goal with 54 seconds left, and Woods hit two free throws with 22 seconds to go and UOP had a safe 56-50 lead.
