Intellects and U.S. Politics

The reason that Czechoslovakia can have a playwright as president is the same reason supporting the headline “Intellect Is Out in U.S. Politics.” When given free choice, as Czechoslovakia has just been given, democracies by and large follow the formula of “of the people, by the people and for the people.” Intellect is not only out in U.S. politics it is out in the U.S.
Americans would much prefer presidents who can be scapegoats to their high thresholds of comfort rather than visionaries who demand the exhortation of their potential. Regretfully, only time will give us all what we deserve.
