Sheriff’s investigators are searching for a 20-year-old man accused of auto theft and drunk driving who walked away from the James A. Musick Facility early Sunday.
Tony D. Thompson of Riverside County was booked into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana on Feb. 25 on charges of auto theft, drunk driving and resisting arrest. The next day he was transferred to Musick, a minimum security jail just east of El Toro Marine Corps Air Station. Sheriff’s Lt. Harold Schaffroth said that Thompson walked out of the jail between 12:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Sunday. He said Thompson is not considered dangerous.
Thompson is Caucasian, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 145 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
He was scheduled to appear at West Orange Municipal Court in Westminster today, Schaffroth said.
