Sammy Davis Jr. will recuperate at home after being hospitalized for a recurrence of throat cancer, his publicist says.
The entertainer was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Tuesday.
“Right now the doctors want him to concentrate on building his strength,” said publicist Susan Reynolds.
“The initial chemotherapy has been completed. His spirits are up and he continues to fight,” she added.
The 64-year-old’s condition was first diagnosed as carcinoma of the throat last September, and he was forced to cancel concert dates with Liza Minnelli and Frank Sinatra to undergo radiation treatment.
