Sen. Bill Greene, a Los Angeles Democrat who suffered a heart attack last week, is doing well, an aide to Senate President Pro Tem David A. Roberti (D-Los Angeles) said.
Greene, 57, missed the end of the 1989 session while he completed an alcohol treatment program at the Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs.
First elected to the upper house in 1975, Greene is chairman of the Senate Industrial Relations Committee, which handles labor-related bills. He served as an assemblyman from 1967 to 1975.
