CAMBRIDGE, England — A British boxer remained in critical condition today after undergoing brain surgery after his victory in a regional title bout.
Doctors said Mark Goult, a 20-year-old bantamweight, was fighting for his life at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
Goult complained of severe headaches shortly after defeating Danny Porter for the British southern area bantamweight title Tuesday night in Norwich.
He underwent a five-hour operation that night to remove a blood clot from his brain.
