Police are investigating a Tuesday robbery in which a man fired three shots inside an Orange convenience store and escaped with $25.
Sgt. Bob Gustafson said the robber entered the Qwik Market in the 4000 block of Garden Grove Boulevard about 1 a.m. and demanded money from a clerk.
After the clerk handed over $25, the robber demanded beer, the sergeant said.
“The clerk pointed to cooler saying, ‘It’s over there,’ ” Gustafson said. “But the suspect fired two rounds from his (handgun) into the counter and directed the clerk to get the beer for him.”
As the clerk walked over to the cooler, the robber fired a third round and ran out of the store. The gunshot missed the clerk who then called police.
Gustafson said the man was described as 25 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He was cleanshaven, had short dark hair and was wearing a royal blue short-sleeve T-shirt and blue pants, Gustafson said.
