Legends of Golf Switched to May

AUSTIN, Tex. — The founder of the Legends of Golf said the tournament tentatively will move next year to the third week in May, which would mark the second change in as many years.
The Legends, held the last week in April during its first 12 years, moved up a week for 1990 and will be played next weekend at Barton Creek.
Tournament founder Fred Raphael said Thursday that the change next year is necessitated because NBC, which televises the Legends, has picked up NBA basketball and needs the time slots during the third week in April.
