MCA Inc: The entertainment, music and publishing concern posted first-quarter profit of $31.6 million, up 15% from year-earlier figures. Revenue was a record $913 million, up 30%. The Universal City firm attributed the results to the continuing success of “Back to the Future Part II” and “Born on the Fourth of July,” the success of New Kids on the Block merchandising and higher revenue from book publishing and broadcasting and cable.
