Graf Wins in 2nd Citizen Cup Round

HAMBURG, West Germany — Steffi Graf, in only her second tournament since breaking her right thumb three months ago, breezed to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Laura Lapi of Italy in the second round of the Citizen Cup tournament today.

The top-seeded Graf needed only 47 minutes to dispose of her opponent.

Graf, who will next play Nicole Provis of Australia, was sidelined early in February after breaking her thumb in a skiing accident. Graf won her comeback tournament at Amelia Island, Fla., last month.
