The Italian volleyball team, led by Liano Petrelli, defeated the United States, 3-0, at the Forum in a World League match before a crowd of 2,496.
The U.S. team lost, 16-14, 15-7, 15-4. Petrelli had 20 kills and Troy Tanner led the United States with 17 kills.
