Gospel, with a faithful mixture of contemporary R&B; and pop, will be performed by three-time Grammy award-winning singer Deniece Williams at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Ventura High School Auditorium, 2155 E. Main St., Ventura.
The performance is a benefit for the Ventura County Crisis Pregnancy Center, a nonprofit organization.
Williams burst onto the music scene in 1978 with “Too Much, Too Little, Too Late,” a No. 1 duet with Johnny Mathis.
She again topped the singles charts with “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” from the multi-platinum “Footloose” soundtrack in 1984.
Featured Saturday night will be songs from Williams’ latest albums, “Special Love” and “So Glad I Know.”
Proceeds will go to the crisis center, which offers free pregnancy tests, peer counseling and a 24-hour hot line.
All seating is reserved. Tickets are $10, $15 and $20 and are available at Rudd’s, Lord’s Storehouse and Christian Family Supplies locations. Tickets will be available at the door after 4 p.m. the day of the concert.
