Capital Cities Sued: A copyright infringement suit was filed in U.S. District Court on Tuesday by Motion Picture Holdings Inc., a film distributor, against Capital Cities/ABC Inc. The suit, filed in Los Angeles, claims that Capital infringed on the plaintiff’s copyrights by broadcasting unauthorized duplications of seven movies on KABC-TV in Los Angeles and KGO-TV in San Francisco. The suit seeks orders barring the airing of more alleged unauthorized reproductions and unstated damages from Capital Cities and Acama Films, which does business as Movie Greats Network of Sherman Oaks.
