Perot Signs Consulting Contract With IBM: Perot Systems Corp., a firm started by Texas billionaire H. Ross Perot, will advise International Business Machines on how to best expand its computer processing and services organization. Analysts suggested that the agreement is designed to help both companies compete better against Dallas-based Electronic Data Systems, Perot’s former company, which dominates the field of providing corporate data processing and putting together computer networks for large businesses. Perot, who once was a successful IBM computer salesman, sold EDS to General Motors in 1986. The billionaire then created Perot Systems to compete with EDS.
