ORANGE COUNTY ALL-STAR BASEBALL GAME : Patel and Blyleven Head Roster for the North Team

Fullerton High School outfielder Bobby Patel, the county’s top senior hitter, heads the list of selections for the North team that will participate in the Orange County All-Star baseball game, June 12 at Anaheim’s Glover Stadium.
Patel has a .522 batting average, 12 home runs and 39 runs batted in.
Pitcher Todd Blyleven of Villa Park was also selected, marking the first time a father and son both have been chosen to play in the game. Blyleven’s father, Bert, the Angel pitcher, played in the 1969 all-star game for Santiago.
Chris Pascal of Kennedy will coach the 22-player team and will be assisted by Doug Elliot of Sunny Hills and Dave Torres of Anaheim.

Infielders: Matt Carter (Troy); Ed Crippen (Servite); Brandon Farley (Katella); Ruben Hernandez (Orange); Anthony Napolitano (Los Alamitos); Marco Perez (Santiago); Dan Redington (Esperanza); Craig Roah (Kennedy); Rick Tantardini (Bolsa Grande); Lee Torres (Canyon).
Outfielders: Todd Gragnano (Los Alamitos); Greg Hauser (Esperanza); Brad Keays (Sonora); Bobby Patel (Fullerton); Brian Tarvaglia (Brea-Olinda).
