Mexico native Arturo Barrios broke the record to win the San Francisco Bay-to-Breakers race for the fourth consecutive year.
Barrios finished the 7.5-mile race in 34:31.2, beating the record set in 1986 by Utah runner Ed Eyestone. British-born Jill Hunter was the top woman finisher, in 39:19.
