HIGH SCHOOL PLAYOFF ROUNDUP : Kennedy Posts Tennis Victory Over Van Nuys
- Share via
There are no standouts on Kennedy High’s standout tennis team. Coach Craig Raub says balance is his team’s strength, and Kennedy proved it in a 22-7 1/2 win over Van Nuys in the City Section 3-A Division playoff semifinals Tuesday at the Racquet Centre in Studio City.
Every Kennedy singles player won at least one match, and the three doubles teams won eight of nine matches.
Kennedy’s David Schwartz won three of four at No. 1 singles, and No. 2 Bobby Butler swept his four opponents. Kennedy’s Josh Etting and Che Naveja combined to win all three matches at No. 1 doubles.
Kennedy will face Dorsey on June 1 at the Racquet Centre for the City 3-A championship.
